The briefing came just three days after judge Arun Subramanian handed down a sentence of four years and two months behind bars. Combs’ team sought 14 months, most of which Combs had already served. Prosecutors fought to keep him behind bars for more than 11 years.
Jurors acquitted Combs on the most serious charges — racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. He was convicted on two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution, the basis for his sentence Friday. His attorneys claimed he was wrongly prosecuted under the Mann Act, and they are planning to appeal.
